About this campaign
This fundraiser is to help raise money to provide in-home breastfeeding education, consultations, and support for mother's who would not otherwise have access to affordable care.
The disparity in breastfeeding statistics across neighborhoods in Hamilton County is staggering. Only 1 in 3 babies get any mother’s milk in one neighborhood, compared to almost every baby in another neighborhood.
It is also important to note that within the areas in Hamilton County where we have the lowest breastfeeding rates, we also have some of the highest rates of infant mortality. This connection between lack of breastfeeding and infant mortality is significant and has been confirmed in at least one study.
We recognize that breastfeeding does not come easily for all women, so we want moms to know about local resources available to help initiate and continue breastfeeding. (http://blog.cincinnatichildrens.org/safety-and-prevention/breastfeeding-lets-make-it-work )

Breastfeeding Education, Support, & Lactation Consultations
Our Certified Lactation Consults offer culturally sensitive and evidence-based information to women and their families. We host breastfeeding support groups, as well as private IN-HOME consultations to facilitate positive breastfeeding relationships.

Natural Instincts: Go Natural Breastfeed!
Natural Instincts is a movement that identifies, supports, and nurtures opportunities to provide continuous breastfeeding promotion and support. We aim to raise awareness of the critical need for breastfeeding support and information within communities of color.
